Christy Awards

The Christy Awards (named for Catherine Marshall's novel, Christy) is a fairly new contest. It was established in 1999 to recognize novelists and novels of excellence in the Christain fiction industry. Categories include:
  • Single Title Contemporary
  • Contemporary Series/Sequels/Novellas
  • Historical
  • Romance
  • Suspense
  • Visionary (allegory, fantasy, sci fi, futuristic)
  • First Novel
The difference with this contest is the publishers have to enter the book. In the contests I mentioned yeseterday and the day before, the author or publisher either one can send in submissions. Not so with the Christy. Winners are announced in a formal ceremony at the International Christian Retail Show in July.
