Martin Luther King, Jr.
Have you seen the book Under God by dc Talk's Toby Mac & Michael Tait with WallBuilders? It is a collection of short stories highlighting the faith of our country's forefathers. It is an amazing book that is a must for everyone's nightstand.
One of the short stories is called, Stand Up Martin Luther King, Jr. It gives us a glimpse of his vision, his love of the Lord and his commitment to obey God no matter what.
"When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every tenement and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing the words of the old spiritual, 'Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.'" --Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Under God" is really good. Another good one is Philip Yancey's "Soul Survivor," where he writes about famous people whose writings changed him. The chapter on MLK tackles the issue of how we can put a flawed person on a pedestal. MLK, for instance, or King David. (Psst... there's no such thing as an un-flawed person.)
