Thursday, February 02, 2006Amazing Grace  I'm trying to find a traditional recording of the hymn Amazing Grace. I'd like it to include vocals (as opposed to instrumental only). I went to our local Christian bookstore, but had a surprisingly difficult time finding one. Anybody know of one that is particularly nice? I suppose if I was a teenager, I'd download it somehow. But before I venture into those uncharted waters, I thought I'd ask you first.

Well, Carman does it nicely on one of his 30 Classic Hymns medleys, "Grace Greater Than Our Sin." The Blind Boys of Alabama do it to the tune of "The House of the Rising Sun," which puts a thoughtful twist on it, but that's probably not very helpful to you! :o)
