Purpose Driven Life
I'm listening to Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life on tape while I workout in the mornings. I'd never read the book before and am now understanding why it is doing so well. I have enjoyed it so much, I went back to the bookstore and bought it in hardcopy so I could highlight my favorite parts.
Today I did the chapter on "Becoming Best Friends With God." It was a great reminder that in order to be friends with someone, you have to spend time with them, love them, delight in them, forgive them, be honest with them, and in Christ's sake--obey Him.
I have enjoyed Warren's illustrations and the straight-forwardness of his message. Great book. It would be the perfect study to do with your spouse. When I'm through with the tapes, I'm going to give them to Greg. He could then listen to them in the car on the way to work.
Have you read it? What were your thoughts?

I actually went through it with both of our teen boys. A lotta basic stuff (for long-time Christians), but it resulted in some good discussions and gave them some solid stuff to think about in their daily lives.

I was thinking that same thing. My daughter just started doing an online Beth Moore study. When she's finished that, I'm going to recommend this one.

My favorite part? "It's not about you." Opening line. Perfect! Way to start the book off on the right foot. Puts it all in the proper perspective.
No wonder this book is book of the year and a bestseller.
I hope to one day do this study with a future husband or a solid Bible study group at church. Would be great to get feedback from others.

That book literally changed my life. I'm a journal kind of gal so I journaled the questions at the end of each day and when I finished the book I found something that just had me slackjawed and in tears for hours. It was a moment I won't ever forget.
And I did an online Beth Moore study last year. Believing God. If this is the one she's doing, wow! This was another of those life-changing catalysts for me. Prayers to you both while you're enjoying God's handiwork through his people!

Thanks, Michelle. And, yes, it is Believing God. I did it online with Beth when she was writing the homework every week and then uploading it on the site. It was an amazing study. I'm excited for my daughter because I know what a powerful study it is.
