Birthday Celebration
Well, I had a birthday this week. I got an ironing board, a frying pan and a blender. Ha! When Greg first called me to the table, he had the numbers on my cake reversed so it said "64." I made him put them back in order. ;-) Next to the cake was my ironing board all wrapped up with a bow and everything. See it?
Now, I will confess to putting those items on my birthday list. I love receiving domestic stuff as gifts. The switching of the candles he thought up on his own, though.
I'm off to Denver today. This week is the ICRS (International Christian Retail Show) and the winners of the Christy Awards will be announced tomorrow night. I will try and let you know the results if I can, but you can always check for the winners here. I won't be back until Wednesday. Hopefully I'll be able to post before then, though.

Gasp, my daughter and my friend Sandy had their birthdays this week too! As well as one of Sandy's friends, and Larry the Cucumber (aka Mike Nawrocki), and of course President Bush. Such a week! Luv the wrap job on the ironing board. I assume you'll reverse your hubby's candles on his birthday too???

Thanks, girls. I attended my first event tonight--with no makeup and in flip flops. Yep. They lost one of my bags. Fortunately, the suitcase with my clothes arrived with me, but the bag with my make up and shoes and dryer and chi-iron and hair spray and undergarments and all didn't arrive.
The worst part was my Bible and cowboy boots were also in that bag. Both of which are irreplaceable. The Bible because I've got the parts I love the best highlighted along with notes and stuff.
The boots because they are like a baseball mitt, you know? You break them in and they fit your feet just right. Losing them would be awful.
Anyway, I changed into a cute little skirt and top, but couldn't do anything with my hair and had absolutely no make up on. (It had all worn off.)
When I got back to the hotel tonight, it still wasn't here, then about 11:00pm, the front desk called and it had been found and delivered. Praise the Lord!!
So, now I can sleep tight!

Happy Belated Birthday, Dee. Busy week at work leading up to inventory at the bookstore, so missed out on checking in. Playing catch-up.
What a way to wrap up your birthday celebration...ICRS in Denver. Fun! I know SO many who will be there. Sure wish I could be. (sigh) One of these days I will...with my own books.

Oh! And glad your other bag arrived. Such precious cargo in that one. Praise the Lord!
Maybe wherever it was...someone got some use out of the Bible. :)
