New Scrapbooking Headquarters
Boys are so different from girls. When our oldest daughter moved out of the house, her room was still filled with trophies, picture frames, art work, bulletin boards, etc. When our son moved out, he took everything with him and what he didn't take with him, he threw away. His room, his walls, his closet, his drawers--everything was barren.

So, with his blessing, I moved all my scrapbooking stuff out of Greg's office and into our son's old room. I put a big ol' desk that up to four people can use at once (my daughters like to scrapbook, too). I filled his old comicbook stand with scrapbook papers. I mounted a pegboard across one of the walls.
Now all that's left is to get in there and get to work!

Wow, I'm impressed! I've never scrapbooked, unless you count the horse scrapbooks I kept when I was a kid. I filled 'em with photos from horse magazines. Ha! I know, you're in a whole 'nother league.
Family photos? All over the house. Unorganized. Maybe someday....

Very nice. *grin*

Those look like photos for an upcoming craft-making book....
4:11 PM
Don't be impressed. But I'm still on 1997 with my scrapbooks! Ha!

I love the desk! I saw it in a catalog this week and want one for myself someday. What a wonderful place to get things out and not have to clean it right back up again. Don't expect it to stay clean for very long! :)

It's not very Christian-like to be jealous! LOL But I am. ;)

You know what's bizarre about that desk, though, Amy? It's a left-handed desk! All the drawers and the sliding shelf (for your mouse if you had a computer) are on the left-hand side. I didn't even notice that when I ordered it.
I'm right handed, so it takes a little getting used to ... but I'm thinkin' I'll manage. ;-)
I've been serious about scrapbooking (archival stuff, etc) since 1991, Michelle. So, I've waited a *long* time for my own little corner. So while you wait for your corner to become available, just come on over and I'll share mine!
P.S. Greg *freaked out* when he saw all the holes I put in the walls (mounting my pegboard). He was in Europe when I did all this. I just smiled and said, "Surprise!" Ha!

Deeanne--I would LOVE to come and scrap together! I did make my own little corner (and it truly is a corner) and would you believe I've only sat down there about three times to scrap? I'll take a picture of it AFTER I clean it up a bit. It has become a staging area for my pictures that hang on the wall while I'm painting the living room!
I must have, at the very least, 40 rolls of film that are undeveloped and about 40 more that are waiting to be cropped and put in the books. Here's what has helped me: http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Where-to-begin/Photo-Organization/Power%e2%84%a2-Sort-Box I have the large one and the small one and it fit every single photo I have in it. I sound like a commericial, but it has helped me beyond belief!!
I want to see some of your layouts!
1:09 PM
I've seen those, Michelle. I just use the ol' shoe box and have one for each year.
I do use the Creative Memories layout helper, though. (http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Where-to-begin/Layout-Planning/Power-Layouts%c2%ae-Kit)
I lay out a bunch of pages, then sit down in front of the TV and glue them all in after I've filled up my box.
I'll see what I can do about sharing some of my pages. I do 12x12s, though, and my scanner doesn't. So, I'm not sure it will work.
5:19 PM
I meant to get some of those layout helpers. I don't watch TV though, I'm usually online so they probably wouldn't help me as much as they help you! LOL
Just take digitals of your layouts, don't worry about scanning them!

Oh My Gosh... I am sooooo jealous too. My stuff still occupies the dining room. In fact, sometimes it doesn't even look like a dining room. When can I come over and play? I'll buy the Starbucks ;-) And where did you find that wonderful desk?
8:10 AM
What a great setup, Deeanne! I don't scrap book (can I still be your friend?) But I admire those of you who do!
:) Rachel
1:29 PM
No worries, Rachel, I have lots of friends who don't scrap.
Starbucks? Did someone mention Starbucks? ;-)
9:40 PM
I want a scrapbook room...
