The Girls Go To London
Greg took the girls with him on a business trip to London. Well, sort of. The three of them flew into London. He got them settled in a hotel, bought them some bus and subway passes, took them on a quick tour of the town, then headed on to Norway and Scotland where his meetings were.
After a week of meetings, he--obviously--stopped in London, took them to a show and then they all headed back home the following morning. The girls had a list of what all they wanted to see. Three of the six days were scheduled for "shopping." Greg was so exasperated.
But, they still managed to hit the highlights: Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Kensington Palace, The Eye, the Tower of London, Speakers Corner, Hyde Park. Shopping wise, they went to Harrods, Oxford Street, Regents Street, Carnaby Street, and Portobello Road.
One day they had some extra time, so they decided to get on the next bus that passed by and see where it took them. They ended up passing some great looking shops, so they disembarked and ... went shopping! Ha!
The picture above is when they went to feed the birds. The girls were not expecting the birds to be quite so up-close-and-personal. The videos they took of this were so funny. Our 19 yr old squealed the whole time she was feeding them. The 17 yr old (above) settled down once she got over the shock of it all.

Somehow those pictures make me think of Audrey Hepburn, Gidget, and Mary Poppins, all at the same time. Very attractive girls, and their dad's kinda cute too! I luv those red phone booths...

Well said, Barb. I think the girls are a combination of those very three.
It was all I could do to not insist I go along. But, Greg & I wanted the girls to have this adventure on their own. I'm sure there are lots of stories that they neglected to tell us about--but that's part of the fun, eh?

How fun! Those are great pictures.
Methinks the girls are taller than their mama. Seems like they come up a little closer to Greg's shoulder. (I just had to point that out, didn't I?!)

Yeah, they definitely look like they got Dad's tall genes! But maybe they can follow in Mom's footsteps and write a book someday, and reveal some of those secret London adventures.... :o)

I'm definitely the runt of the litter. Everyone is taller than me. The only thing that makes me feel any better is our 15 yr old son is squeaking by his big sisters in height. They aren't too sure how they feel about that. I remind them of that when they pick up my shoes and say, "Awww. Whose wittle, bitty things are these??" ;-)
P.S. Don't think we'll have any writers, Barb. Musicians, yes. Actors, maybe. Writers, probably not.

Boo hoo, altho that could work well when your books are made into movies!
I'm also the runt in our house, and it's been that way for years. The kids like to remind me of it too, like the time #1 Son looked at me and said, "Hey you down there!" Grrr....

That is a great picture!
I'm five foot two inches tall. My six year old son is four foot four.
He's SIX and he's TEN inches shorter than me.
I was really, truly supposed to be tall. I have the size ten feet to prove it.

4'4" at age 6?? I was 3'3" at age eight!! No lie. Once I made it to high school I just barely managed to squeak into the "big girl" shoe sizes.
