What A Day

The kids computer has been in the shop 3 times in the last two months. We just got it back yesterday, spent 2-1/2 hours loading virus protection, applications we'd lost, etc. Then tried to use it and it didn't work. Aaaaargh!

So, this morning after a teleconference, I went to the gym. After that, I took the PC back to the computer repair place. While I was there, my husband called and invited me to lunch . I accepted (even though I was still in my gym clothes with no makeup and no comb).

I pulled into a parking place at the restaurant and hit the car beside me (my front left bumper hit his back right fender). No one was around. You have no idea how badly I wanted to back up and park somewhere else. But, I didn't. I left him a note. Went inside and told my husband this was going to be one *really* expensive lunch.

Came home and started answering emails. Finished this really long one that required a bunch of reference numbers I had to look up, hit "send" and then *my* computer froze. Lost the email and all the stuff I had looked up.

I'm tellin' ya ... it's been one of those days. I'm still in my gym clothes. Still with no makeup. Still haven't combed my hair. And my husband just called to say he's on his way home. I'm thinkin' hot dogs for dinner.

For now, though, I'm just gonna shut everything down, put my pjs on and start fresh tomorrow!!

I'm so sorry. I wish I could wave a magic wand over your computer and your car and the other guy's car so everything would be fixed, even the vanished email.

And I'm thinking popcorn is better than hot dogs for a fast dinner.

I was gonna say chocolate! Definitely after a day like that! Or Edy's Slow-Churned Raspberry Chip ice cream! Or Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra ice cream! Or all of the above! And use disposable bowls and spoons! Unless you eat it right out of the carton!

How about hot dogs, popcorn AND chocolate? It's good to have all your bases covered.

You're not alone on those bad Mondays. Sometimes it's best to just crawl back into bed and get out on the opposite side. I have just volunteered to take on the rest of the preparations for a church banquet -- it's this weekend. I have two lengthy college assignments due, a church function Wednesday night, and a football game Friday night. Where is the time I have available for this? So we just pray. Lets pray together that the rest of the week has positive results and that everything will work out the way HE wants it to.

Btw, I had to settle for Ramen soup for dinner. Hooray for .15-cent soup.

Would you believe after I shut my computer down yesterday, the repair shop called. Said it was a software issue, they erased the entire hard drive on the kids computer and it was ready to be picked up.

Greg picked it up on his way home. I made hot dogs (had shut down my computer, so I didn't consider chocolate or popcorn until it was too late), booted up the kids computer, spent two hours reloading everything on it. And ... it did it again. Freaked out. Froze. Had to be powered off.

So, I put on my pjs and picked up my all-time favorite romance (Years, by LaVyrle Spencer) and began reading it for the umpteenth-million time. And, oh, it is sooooo good.

I'm much better today. I always feel better when a new day dawns. Greg did, however, have the nerve last night to ask me if I had made him any creme brulee for dessert. Can you imagine? Hot dogs and creme brulee. Ha!

And, Amen, Lord--to whatever Susan prayed. I want some of what she asked for!!

You make creme brulee??? Holy cow! Skip the hot dogs next time and have the creme brulee with a side of chocolate something, all mixed up with your fave romance novel! :oD

Actually, Greg taught me to make it. But when he put the sugar on top, we didn't have a torch, so he had to use the broiler. It didn't melt the sugar evenly and he became so upset he said he would never again make it without a torch.

So, by golly, the next day I went out and bought him a torch! Ha! Now, I make the creme brulee and he torches the sugar. (Something about that open butane flame whooshing out of the torch that appeals to the big fella.)
