Home Sweet Home

Our oldest daughter came home from college last weekend. The thing that made it so special this time was that none of her friends came home, nor did her boyfriend. So, we got her all to ourselves.

She and I scrapbooked together. The family went to Grandma and Grandpa's (my parents') house for dinner one night, then out to eat with Granddad (Greg's dad) the next night. Afterwards, she and I piled into my bed and watched My Fair Lady on DVD. (Greg opted to sit that one out. Ha!) She hadn't seen it before and she absolutely loved it.

Sunday morning she sat between her dad and I at church. I think she enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. She emailed and said how nice it was to just go home and relax. This is a photo of her and Granddad (Greg's dad). Aren't they sweet?

Great photo! She hadn't seen My Fair Lady?!? Good thing you're keepin' her up on those great old movies, mom! Don't forget the other fabulous ones of that era, like The King & I, Annie Get Your Gun, Singin' In the Rain, etc etc!

Actually, I found out she had see *My Fair Lady* but it was years ago when she was little and she didn't remember any of it--so it was like watching it for the first time.

And, yeah, I told her *Oklahoma* is next!

No kidding. That is just so bizarre, eh? I hadn't seen it in years and years, so I really enjoyed watching it again. What I found particularly fun, though, was hearing my daughter laugh and delight in the story. Reminded me of the time we went to Disney world and enjoyed the kids more than we did the park, you know?

I always liked watching my kids' faces more than movies or shows we'd watch when they were younger. Their expressions were always far more interesting than whatever was on the screen....

And ... Barb sent me *My Fair Lady* a few months ago to watch with my daughter Abby! We're waiting for the right moment to curl up in bed together to watch it. Barb also sent us *Calamity Jane* and neither of us had seen it. Loved it!!
