Be A Part of History!
Bethany House is taking a survey of readers' opinions for Ann Tatlock's upcoming release, Every Secret Thing. Ann has been writing for BHP since 1998. The novel they are working on now is about a young woman's tumultuous return to her hometown where memories, mysteries and an old love await her.
The art department has designed three different covers for the book and would like to see which one you like and why. The survey is anonymous and will take about two minutes. If you're interested click here.
For more about Ann, you can read an interview my editor did with her and you can also visit her website. I will be sure to let you know which cover they choose and when the book is released.
Once you've voted, feel free to come back here and let us know which one you chose and why.

How fun. I picked cover A. It suggests mystery. I liked C a lot, but the model didn't look like somebody I could relate to. (I read a lot of chick lit.)

I'll 'fess up!!! I too picked cover A for the exact same reason. I was drawn to that cover more than the others. Sounds like a really good story! I'm anxious to read it.

I'll reveal my choice after everyone's had a chance to vote, Barb. Which one did *you* pick?

I actually liked the one with the umbrella. I don't read much "dark" stuff unless I absolutely know the author is top-notch. The color of the umbrella added a little hopefulness to the story concept, I thought--made it more likely that I would consider it, anyway.

I also picked Cover B. I found the solitary girl on the front very moving. The way she stood with her back to you looking out made me wonder where's she going? What's she hiding? Is returning or running away?
The pink umbrella was a nice splash of color against the muted, neutral background. I found it caught my eye and had me wondering about the character.

I, too, picked B. I couldn't give a good reason, though, other than for some reason it stood out to me.

I'm from Oregon, and really glad to get away from the rain. Umbrellas do not appeal to me. They seem kind of depressing, actually.

I picked "B" though it wasn't the popular choice at all on my editor's blog (www.faithinfiction.blogspot.com).
I liked the idea of her hiding behind the umbrella--kind of like when we play hide-and-seek with a child. They think that when they cover their eyes, we can't see them.
I got that same feeling from the gal trying to hide behind the umbrella. She may not be able to see us, but we can see her--and most likely, her secrets.
Secondary to all that: Her rainboots were really cute.
