Girlfriends Weekend 2009 - The Video
Well, I finally put together a slide show for you from Girlfriends' Weekend. In order to play it on the web, the pictures got really pixelated--sorry about that. But, you can get the gist of it (no pun intended!).
Next year's event is the 10th Anniversary of Girlfriends' Weekend, so you aren't going to want to miss it! Hope you can make it!

Girlfriends Weekend 2009
I'm attending the Girlfriend Weekend Author Extravaganza this Friday and Saturday, which is put on by Kathy Patrick and the Pulpwood Queens. It is a huge gathering of book clubs and book lovers at the Jefferson Conference Center in Jefferson, Texas. It showcases a plethora of authors from a wide range of genres.
I'll be doing a presentation called What Takes So Long?, where I'll show the process that A Bride Most Begrudging went through before it made it to the store shelves--including other cover art mock-ups that were considered before settling on the final cover.
Not only can you attend sessions where the authors are speaking and autographing, but you can join them and other book lovers for two evenings of fun. There will be Kareoke Night on Friday and The Great Big Ball of Hair Ball on Saturday.
It is open to the public and I'd love to see some familiar faces! So come on out. Click here for all the details.

New Year's Resolutions
Each year I make resolutions, then revisit them at the beginning of the following year. Let's see how we did.
About this time last year, I made the following resolutions:
- Organize my arts & crafts closet
- Organize my gameroom/sewing closet
- Write more than one book this year
The first two have been on my list since 2007. I ended up getting these done by the hair on my chiny-chin-chin (I did them the week after Christmas). And the only reason I cleaned those closets was because the kids gave Greg a bunch of board games for Christmas and there was no place to store them.
I forgot to take "before" pics (sorry), but these closets were a DISASTER. Here's the "after" pics. The sewing/gameroom closet:
And the arts & crafts closet:

I'm so proud of myself! Only took me two-plus years!! LOL.
As for writing more than one book last year ... that's a good one. Big laugh. I don't think so. Which means it's crunch time now!
As far as making new resolutions, I'm not. This year, I resolve to slow down and smell the roses!
How did you do on your resolutions? Any new ones for 2009?
Also ... it's my day to be on Bustles and Spurs. I talk about my visit to Corsicana back when I was researching DEEP IN THE HEART OF TROUBLE. Click here for more info on that.
