Legacy Books
Oh, girls. You are not going to BELIEVE what I did! I drove 7 hours round trip for a book signing in Plano, Texas at Legacy Books and ... I MISSED IT!!! I thought it was at 4:00, but it was at 2:00!
If you went to the bookstore expecting to find me, please accept my most sincere apologies. I signed some bookplates and send them to Legacy. That way, if you go to the store, you can get a bookplate from them and still have your signed book. (I tracked the package and the bookplates have arrived. So feel free to go in any time now and pick one up.)
Again, I'm so, so, so sorry about that!

Meanwhile, don't forget I'm giving away Dee's Circle of Friends pins and an autographed hardback. To be eligible to win, vote for what celebrity you would choose to star in my books at Storycasting.com and then leave a reminder here on my blog that you voted. Details here.

No Place Like Home
I got a call late last night. It was our 18 yo son. He had a low grade fever, a terrible cough and a pounding headache. He wanted to come home. So, he abandoned his apartment for a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup and a mama who would hover.
I guess there's no place like home when you don't feel good. :)
Katybug won the Dee's Cirlce of Friends pin! If you want a chance to win one, too, and a chance for our GRAND PRIZE (a signed hardback of one of my books), then go to Storycasting.com and vote for the actors you would envision in the movie-version of my books. (Details here.)
But BE SURE to come back here and let me know you voted. The computer choses our winners from those who leave messages here at our blog saying that you cast a vote!

Storycasting.com
We've had many discussions in the Chat Room about what celebrities ya'll would cast into the starring roles if Hollywood decided to make a movie out of one of my books. Well, last week Sylvia asked me to sign up at Storycasting.com.
This is a website devoted to this discussion. The author's books are posted, then the author "casts" the movie. You, then, get to either agree with the author or cast someone else in the part. Someone you think would fit even better.
For example, I cast Isla Fisher for the role of Constance in A Bride Most Begruding. And Hugh Jackman for the role of Tony in Deep in the Heart of Trouble (though he would make a good Drew also ... and a good Johnnie ... and ... okay. 'Nough said. :P ).
Click here to see who else I cast, then give your opinion! On Storycasting's homepage they list which books have had the most casting in the last 30 days. Let's see if we can make the list! So, everybody vote.
ADDED INCENTIVE: If you cast a vote, come back here & leave a comment to let me know you voted. Then, at the end of each week in June & July, I'll do a drawing from those who left a comment (AND also voted). The winner will receive a DEE'S CIRCLE OF FRIENDS pin. All voters/commenters will also be included in a GRAND PRIZE drawing.
The GRAND PRIZE will be a signed hardback of Dee's book (your choice of which one). This will be awarded at the end of July. So ... go vote!
See you there!

Album Release
Remember how Brandii Chast ain felt when her team won the world championship? Well, our boys must have felt something similar after the official release of their album. (I think they were also just hot from being under the lights. LOL.)
Their Album Release Show was Saturday night. (Our boys are the two with short hair--last one on the right [keyboardist] and third from the right [drummer].)
They play heavy metal and we go out as a family to support them. The girls and I helped sell t-shirts and the new CD. Greg mingled and took pictures.

This release is the culmunation of years of hard work, hours and hours of practice, lots of money invested, a lot of promotion and tons of shows. They hope to sign with a label this year.

Congrats, boys! You did it!

Tribute to Paula
My office manager of seven years, Paula, has accepted a new job. Her last day was Wednesday and boy will she be missed. Because I work out of my home, Paula worked here, too. So she has become very special not just to me, but to my family as well.
Some of you, I know, have had communications with her over the years as she has answered some of your questions and queries.
On her last day, we had a special lunch and the kids came and joined us (except for our youngest who couldn't get off work. Greg couldn't come either because he was overseas at the time).

Paula will be missed and I know that wherever she goes, she will be greatly loved and appreciated.

Thanks for everything, Paula!!
