THE PROCESS

In order to have viewers experience the 1893 Chicago World's Fair in all its glory, I inundated the artist, Monica Bruenjes, with photographs of the buildings and fairgrounds.

She used many of those, and some of which she found on her own--such as this one.

Here's an example of the progression her drawings took when she recreated the fair.

As you can see, she added tables outside the Philadelphia Cafe. We decided to do this because we needed to keep our vignettes down to 60-seconds each. Going inside a restaurant became problematic for many reasons.

Since there were outdoor cafes at the fair, we took a bit of creative license and moved some of this cafe's tables outside--just for this particular day. :)
